Administration Officer - Mental Health Day Program - Full Time (Monday - Friday)

 

About Northern Beaches Hospital

Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

Our Patient Services Team have a vacancy for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work alongside our team of Administration staff in supporting the hospital’s Admissions and Reception.  

 

As an Administration Officer in our Mental Health Day Program your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform a broad range of administration duties including:
    • Manage a busy reception desk

    • Answer and redirect calls

    • Organise appointments and prepare admission paperwork 

    • Conduct follow up requests and make reminder calls for visits

  • Maintain accurate and effective record management systems including preparation of medical records

  • Perform Health Fund Checks

  • Manage patient list for mental health day programs
  • Manage the collection of excesses/co payments

  • Coordinate with staff medical staff and other departments 

  • Complete other clerical tasks such as data entry

 

 

Selection Criteria: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills     
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Work Monday - Friday 
  • Health fund knowledge
  • Medical/mental Health administration experience (preferrable not required)
  • WebPas Hospital system experience (Desired)
