Two new unique opportunities exist for an educator experienced in medical care to provide education and professional development. 
 
The Northern Beaches Hospital represents an innovative model of healthcare in NSW as a fully licensed private hospital providing services to both public and private in and out patients. With 488 beds, a large Emergency Department, 20 Operating Theatres, and a full range of Medical and Surgical services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors, allied and support staff. 
 
The Public Medical ward has 30 beds in total, with an interesting and varied patient case mix and is equipped to provide advanced care of medical patients. 
 
As the Educator you will play a key role in ensuring the planning, development and teaching of nursing education in the Medical ward is well thought out and executed. 
 
You will make an impact by:
  • planning, developing and delivering nursing education programs
  • coordinate and provide hands on educational support and clinical teaching to  staff, graduate nurses & students
  • providing expert clinical education and leadership, expert advice and support to all staff of the department
  • promoting a high standard of evidence based nursing care through dissemination of best practice knowledge
  • supervising mandatory training and completion of eLearning
  • coordinating delivery of mandatory training including delivering basic life support and manual handling training
  • ensuring best practice competency based programs are available and assessment of staff competencies. 
You will bring to our high-performing team:
  • Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Certificate IV workplace training and Assessment (TAE) (or working towards)
  • Minimum of 4 years in area of clinical practice
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Advanced life support certification
  • Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High degree of computer literacy including Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2015 – 2019.
