Our Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) Mental Health Department are seeking a Clinical Psychologist/Program Coordinator to join their experienced and extensive Allied Health team. Northern Beaches Hospital is an outstanding healthcare facility providing psychiatric care to public and private patients with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional allied health teams, psychiatric nurses, doctors and support staff.


As an experienced professional, your role is to collaborate with the Mental Health Service Manager to provide key clinical and operational direction for the inpatient and day patient programs and related activities. You will be responsible for the development, provision and management of evidence-based therapeutic interventions and programs. You will provide strategic direction to the Mental Health Service Manager and provide day to day operational support to the therapy teams to ensure the delivery of cost effective, efficient and evidence based patient care

The position is responsible for the efficient organisation, coordination and competent operational management of the therapeutic programs at NBH, including:

  • The Inpatient Therapy and Day Programs
  • Provision of evidence based group therapy based programs and some individual sessions when required
  • Leadership and performance management of the therapy teams
  • Contributing to the development, collation and analysis of clinical outcomes
  • Developing and supporting research activities
  • Service compliance with all relevant legislation and policies
  • Effective communication with referrers, patients, carers, treating psychiatrists, inter-facing programs and staff
  • Participating as a group therapist or co-therapist
  • Administering psychometric tests as required
  • Maintaining commitment to on-going learning and professional development. 

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Clinical Psychology
  • Qualified as a registered supervisor with Australian Psychological Society  

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A post-graduate qualification in Clinical Psychology
  • Previous clinical experience in a private healthcare setting
