An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Health Information Manager to join Northern Beaches Hospital as a Deputy Health Information Manager.


Northern Beaches Hospital is a fully licensed 488 bed private hospital facility. Providing care to both public and private in and out patients this outstanding facility will provide a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors, allied and support staff.


As the Deputy Health Information Manager you will be responsible for certain aspects of the Health Information Services Department including the management of medico-legal requests.


You will:

  • Manage medico-legal and other requests for patient information in accordance with relevant Legislation and Healthscope policy
  • Assist with the timely extraction and submission of mandatory data reporting
  • Assist with digitised medical record management/scanning process
  • Assist with clinical coding when necessary
  • Participate in case mix analysis, education & quality activities
  • Participate in audits as necessary


You will bring to our high performing team:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Information Management (or equivalent) and eligible for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
  • Current or recent experience in hospital based Health Information Services
  • Up to date Clinical Coding knowledge and current experience using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS in an acute facility
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hospital computer systems such as WebPAS and Microsoft Office products
  • Previous experience with EMR system and/or digitised medical record
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level organisational skills with proven ability to organise, prioritise and meet pre-determined targets and deadlines
