The RN/EN-Graduate Nurse Program in 2020 is a 12 month contract and offers the following:
  • Alignment with the University of Tasmania‚Äôs Clinical Honours - Transition to Practice (RN applicants only)
  • Rotations throughout our hospital may include Acute Medical/Surgical, Emergency, Oncology & Medical Oncology, Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Urology, Plastics, Theatre, Day of Surgery Admission and ICU/CCU

The Hospital includes; 147 beds across 5 Wards providing Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation Services, combined Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit, Emergency Department, 7 Operating Suites, Catheter Laboratory, Day of Surgery Admission and Day Infusion/Oncology Services.

Selection Criteria:
  • Eligibility for registration as a nurse with the Nurses and Midwives board (AHPRA) - EN/RN
  • Working with Children Check (WWC)
  • Graduated studies in 2019
  • Flexible to undertake Part Time employment on a 7-day rotating roster
  • High-level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Displays evidence of clinical reasoning and critical thinking.
  • Works well within a team 

How to Apply:

  • Include a CV with two current referees (Referee's must be a clinical teacher, preceptor, or other senior nurse that you have reported to at a clinical placement )
  • Provide certified copy of academic transcript
  • Provide two relevant, recent and certified clinical placement reports (acute /medical/surgical/ mental health/ rehab or peri-operative)
  • One passport sized photo

Important dates to remember:
  • Interviews - week commencing Monday 19th August 2019
  • Outcome of interviews - by Friday 6th September 2019
  • Program commences - Tuesday 4th February 2020
