The Melbourne Clinic is Australia’s largest private mental health service, providing a range of services including inpatient and day programs and an outreach program that are tailored to meet the needs of people with a range of mental health conditions. Programs include The Living Well Program- general inpatients, the Emotional Management Program (EMP), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Program, OCD Program, the Professorial Mood Disorders Unit (associated with The University of Melbourne), Older Persons’ Psychiatry, Eating Disorders Unit, Drug and Alcohol Detoxification and Rehabilitation and the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit. A Community Outreach Program and a wide range of Day Programs are also available to support people in the community.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at The Melbourne Clinic (TMC) for new graduate social workers and occupational therapists to work across our inpatient mental health programs.

As a new graduate you will work with support of other team members provide group based therapeutic interventions and some individual work. This is a unique opportunity to learn and develop skills within dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR and trauma informed care.

To be considered for these positions you will need:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social work or Occupational Therapy
  • Appropriate Registration with AHPRA (Occupational Therapist) or eligibility for membership with the Australia Association of Social Workers
  • Current working with children check
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full Australian working rights

In this position you will have rotations between our inpatient programs and will could include time within our Emotional Management Programs, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Program and Young Adults Emotional Management Program.
