Northern Beaches Hospital is a fully licensed private hospital, providing care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors and staff. 

As a Prosthesis Officer you will report to the Supply Manager and take responsiblility for the establishment and operation of best-in-class prosthesis management processes throughout the Hospital.
You will:
  • Manage the timely, accurate receipt, storage, use and patient billing of prosthesis within the Hospital to provide patient care
  • Help set-up prosthesis supply processes throughout the Hospital that are best-in-class, KPI efficient and can adapt to meet the changing needs of internal customers
  • Pro-actively manage prosthesis supply & inventory queries from internal customers and external suppliers/vendors
  • Manage the storage of owned and consigned prosthesis inventories and regularly stock-take these inventories
  • Continually seek new ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste and improve customer service
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising, nursing, supply, billing and administrative staff. 

The position requires physical and administrative work, attention to detail and well-developed problem-solving skills.

You will bring to our high-performing team:
  • Previous experience in ordering and billing of prosthesis, high-cost medical devices and consumable items at an acute hospital
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good track record of maintaining imprest levels and supplies
  • Well-developed oral and written communication ability
  • Experience in the use bar code scanners
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Medical product knowledge (desired)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • High degree of computer literacy & sound knowledge of computerised purchasing systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel
