Administration Officer
Peninsula Private Hospital are seeking an organised and enthusiastic professional to support our Day Surgery Team. This part time (30 hours per week, Monday – Friday) Day Surgery Ward Clerk role involves supporting administrative and clinical teams across the hospital—from front office and reception through to ward services.
Key duties include coordinating clerical tasks throughout a patient’s hospital journey, from admission to discharge, and providing prompt, courteous support to patients, relatives, and staff.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Stickering of pre-admission charts for the next day
• Collating day surgery charts to send to coding
• Work closely with medical teams to ensure a seamless patient experience.
• Making of theatre packs for the department
• Back up support to theatre bookings clerk
• Compile and manage patient admission paperwork and clinical documentation.
Skills and Experience
You will be an approachable and proactive administrator who values patient care and customer service aligned with Healthscope’s core values.
You will have:
• Previous experience in a similar role (preferred).
• Familiarity with Hospital software or other patient data systems (desirable).
• Knowledge of Health Funds and patient eligibility (desirable).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
