Assistant Accountant – Finance Operations

The position is responsible for supporting the finance requirements of the hospital and corporate office of Healthscope.  This position plays a crucial role in the formation of the Finance Operations department.

 

Key Accountabilities

·       is responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. The Assistant Accountant will collaborate with various departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions throughout the process.

·       is responsible for preparing and submitting reconciliations and any journals or transactions to support these reconciliations

·       Is responsible for month end task functions.  These tasks may include (but not be limited to) prepayments, accruals, capex clearing, refund clearing, cash clearing, debtors and creditors.

·       will assist in the project to deploy of a Finance Operations Centre. 

·       may become responsible for a wider range of reconciliations across the Finance Operations Department as the Finance Operations department takes on more responsibility.

Experience for Success

      Demonstrated knowledge in managing complex reconciliations

      Demonstrated knowledge / ability to analyse complex financial/resource information to develop options to maximise financial outcomes

      Demonstrated knowledge / experience in providing financial and business analysis to support robust financial controls.

      Demonstrated ability to think conceptually and develop practical, innovative solutions to problems

      Demonstrate experience in process improvement or finance projects.

      Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products

      Experience in the use of ERP system etc.

 

Knowledge for Success

      Fluency in English – written and verbal

 

Qualifications for Success

      View to or studying towards CPA or ACA qualifications
