Norwest Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care to join our established nursing team in our Emergency Department.

Norwest Private Hospital is located in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney's Bella Vista. Our Emergency Department sees over 10,000 adult and paediatric presentations each year and participates in the NSW Ambulance Matrix system.
 

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Ability to be part of our leadership team in supporting and mentoring the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence based, person centred patient care
  • Demonstrate professional practice as evidence by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements and Healthscope's polices and processes
  • Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development and providing supervision and teaching to peers, ENs, graduates and students
  • Act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices including participating in departmental and hospital quality improvements and projects
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the health care continuum
  • Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes. Demonstrated professional manner when working in complex situations

 

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in ED with strong clinical experience and knowledge in resuscitation, triage and team leader roles
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing or working towards
  • Understanding of the Australian National Commission in Quality and Safety Ten National Standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment
  • Demonstrate a high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $51.81 - $57.48 per hour.
