The Melbourne Clinic (TMC) are on the lookout for an experienced and enthusiastic Day Program Manager to lead The Melbourne Clinic’s Day Program. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of allied health and nursing professionals to deliver high-quality and innovative mental health programs. You will be responsible for fostering a positive work culture focused on meeting community needs and providing an exceptional patient experience.

The Melbourne Clinic (TMC) is a large private mental health service, comprising of inpatient, Day Program and Outreach services. You will work with the team to achieve operational goals and maintain clinical integrity of therapeutic programs.

Position summary

 

As the Day Program Manager, you will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of our day programs. You will work closely with clinical staff, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality care that meets the needs of our diverse clientele. Your strong leadership skills will be essential in fostering a supportive and engaging environment that promotes recovery and well-being.

  

As the Day Program Manager, your responsibilities will include:

 

·       Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the Day Program team, working closely with other managers to achieve operational goals while maintaining clinical integrity.

·       Program Development: Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of client management plans and day programs.

·       Intake Oversight: Oversee the intake process for day program services, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.

·       Staff Management: Handle HR functions, including rostering and leave cover, while supporting staff development.

·       Consultation: Offer professional-specific consultation and advice to multidisciplinary team members.

·       Quality Improvement: Contribute to education programs and quality improvement projects, engaging in strategic planning and budget management for the Day Program department.

·       Policy Development: Assist in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of relevant policies and programs.

 

Skills and experience:

 

·       Clinical Experience: Demonstrated experience in delivering a range of clinical services to mental health consumers, with management or coordination experience preferred.

·       Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and coordinate a therapy program or team effectively.

·       Assessment Skills: Highly developed skills in assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.

·       Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

·       Organisational Skills: Strong time management and organisational abilities to handle workload effectively.

·       Qualifications:

o   Relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

o   Extensive experience in mental health program management, preferably within a private healthcare setting.

o   Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

o   Knowledge of current mental health issues, treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented practices.

o   A commitment to providing compassionate care and advocating for client needs.
