Prince of Wales Private Hospital are seeking a highly passionate, dynamic and engaging Nurse Unit Manager on a permanent full time basis for our Paediatrics Unit and Adult Day Oncology Unit.

As a Nursing Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management
- Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
- Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team
- Being accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
- Undertaking direct patient care, as required
- Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Registered Nurse with at least 5 years’ experience
- Demonstrated management experience
- Proven experience in building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
- Understand the requirements of private health funding
- Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication skills including advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
Desirable Criteria:
- Tertiary post graduate qualifications in a relevant Nursing specialty
- Experience in Day Oncology or willing to learn and be part of the team
- A demonstrated understanding of Work, Health and Safety legislation.
- A demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality improvement, change management, models of care, evidence based practice and practise development.

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - NSWNMA / AMNF - Nurses and Midwives Agreement – NUM classification starting from $62.46 to $67.18 per hour.
