Nurse Unit Manager
Melbourne Private Hospital is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager – Cath Lab to join our team. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a great experience throughout their care.
About us
Melbourne Private Hospital is a 124-bed private hospital co-located with the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the heart of Parkville, 1.7km from Melbourne CBD. Our hospital offers highly specialised services including extensive neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, and general surgery. These services are supported by a 10-bed intensive care unit, 4-bed acute coronary care unit and 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit.
Your Duties will include;
· Providing operational direction for the Cardiac Cath Lab to ensure efficient and effective management
· Coordinate the delivery of safe, efficient and effect evidenced based nursing care.
· Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring and support to your nursing team
· Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
· Have a working knowledge of flexible rosters, budgets and key performance indicators.
· Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement
· Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes
· Ensure the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment.
· Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiative.
· Undertaking direct patient care, as required
Essential Criteria;
· Extensive experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab
· Demonstrated leadership/management experience
· An ability to communicate with influence to achieve results.
· Strong clinical expertise and passion for delivering high quality patient care.
· Commitment to enabling a culture of continuous improvement.
· Post graduate qualification in relevant field of specialty or working toward
· Post-graduate qualifications in Leadership and Management (desirable)
