About the role
Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated CSSD Nurse Unit Manager to join the Sterilising Services Team on a full time basis.
The successful applicant should be able to perform effectively in a growing and dynamic clinical environment, liaising with all members of the healthcare team, including medical, clinical, support service staff, and have a positive attitude, flexibility and proven excellent interpersonal skills.
As a key member of the Perioperative leadership team, you will report to and work collaboratively with the Perioperative Services Manager with accountability for the operational requirements of the department. You will coordinate an exceptional service that is evidence based and of a high standard consistent with AS 5369:2023, infection control guidelines and the Healthscope Policies.

About you
As an experienced leader you will have extensive experience working in a fast-paced CSSD or Theatre department.
You will have demonstrated proven experience, or a keen interest in people development and leading team culture whilst having a thorough depth of knowledge in ACORN & National Standards. To be successful, you will have:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Rostering experience
- Experience leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Ability to communicate with influence
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate IV in Sterilisation (preferred)
- AHPRA Registration
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience working in a senior role within a CSSD, minimum 2 years in leadership/management position
- Sound knowledge and application of accreditation standards, AS/NZ 5369:2023 standards and HICMR
- Consultative leadership style and sound negotiation skills
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- An interest in promoting best practice patient care and strong sense of customer service
- A focus on professional development
