About the role

John Fawkner Private Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapists to join our team on a casual basis. The successful applicants would be involved in providing physiotherapy services to the acute surgical wards, CCU and ICU.

Specialising in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery and Cancer, the Hospital provides a comprehensive range of onsite medical and surgical services and delivering the highest standard in all areas of health care.

As the largest private hospital with the only private 24 hr. Emergency Department and Critical Care unit in northwestern Melbourne, John Fawkner Private works with highly skilled visiting specialists who offer subspecialty expertise.

John Fawkner Private Hospital has a long-established tradition for providing quality healthcare to our local community, the veteran community and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.

 

As a Physiotherapist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive Physiotherapy services to acute surgical inpatients (including orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac and neurosurgery, and ICU/CCU patients
  • Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence-based practice
  • Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people
  • Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services
  • Clinical supervision of physiotherapy and allied health assistant students

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years Physiotherapy clinical experience
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Excellent clinical practice skills in assessment and intervention
  • Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Experience with Orthopaedic and ICU preferred
  • Weekday availability preferred but not essential
