Ringwood Private Hospital is seeking experienced oncology-trained Registered Nurses to join our Day Therapy Unit, Thompson, on a part time basis with flexible hours.

Our Day Therapy Unit is seeking a compassionate and skilled registered nurse with experience in oncology/haematology. As a Chemotherapy Nurse, you will be responsible for the administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy and supportive treatments, educating patients on self-care and the effective strategies for management of side effects.

The successful candidates will have sound clinical skills, an interest in cancer care and enjoy interacting with patients and their families in our Day Therapy Unit. There will also be opportunities to progress to CNS and pathways to ANUM.

As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide evidenced based nursing care including a comprehensive assessment of patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy as well as other infusions for conditions such as Crohn’s and MS.
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Working with Children check
  • Experience working in oncology and haematology.
  • Experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatments
  • Competency in PICC, PORT, IV Cannulation and phlebotomy skills.
  • Current ADAC qualification
  • CVAD management experience
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Basic computer skills
