      Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker looking for a new and exciting position?

      Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Allied Health team on a casual basis.  

      Our hospital offers a friendly and supportive staff environment, with established multidisciplinary teams. This role provides the opportunity to experience a varied caseload across areas including general medical, ICU, cardiac, maternity and oncology.

      Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital.  We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

      We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.

       

      As a Social Worker your responsibilities will include:

      ·       Providing a high standard of clinical care

      ·       Working independently as part of the healthcare team

      ·       Contributing to the multidisciplinary care of our patients

      ·       Involvement with both inpatient and outpatient services

      ·       Communicating effectively with all stakeholders including doctors, allied health, nurses, patients and their families

       

      Essential Criteria:

      ·       Degree in Social Work and eligibility with the AASW

      ·       Minimum 3 years’ previous experience in a similar role

      ·       Demonstrated experience in adult acute inpatient hospital experience

      ·       Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

      ·       Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

      ·       Skills and experience working in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team

      ·       Customer focused service delivery
