The Opportunity

Our Administration Services team at Brisbane Private Hospital have a new opportunity for an experienced Ward Clerk to join our Damascus Health Services. 

Working with Damascus nursing staff and Allied Health Professionals (AHP), we are seeking a full time team member who will be accountable for providing clerical support to our doctors, nursing staff and allied health professionals.

The service comprises of a 44 bed inpatient unit and dedicated day patient department providing treatment for people with problems related to the use of alcohol and/ or prescribed medications.

The successful applicant will have exceptional customer service skills, flexibility and empathic approach. Key functions include:

·       Greeting patients and other visitors

·       Liaising with other professionals

·       Preparation of patient files, appointment lists and coordination with other ward clerks to obtain ward patient files

·       Medical record filing

·       Providing clerical support to the clinical team

Brisbane Private is a 181-bed Private hospital with 17 operating theatres, surgical, medical and rehabilitation units, ICU and drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. Conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands, specialist services include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, Rehabilitation, General surgery and delivery of Brisbane’s leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Health Services.

Essential Criteria

·       Previous experience in Ward Clerk position 

·       Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

·       Good oral and written communication skills

·       Well organised, able to prioritise, plan ahead and work under pressure

·       Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)

Desirable criteria

·       Experience with medical terminology

·       Experience with Webpas Medical System
