An exciting opportunity exists for a part time Customer Liaison Officer to work in our Day Surgery Unit. The successful applicant will assist in facilitating a welcoming environment for our patients, staff and visitors and support our existing team in this area.

In this role, you will be involved in, but not restricted to:
- Greeting patients and other customers.
- Liaising with nursing staff to provide accurate information to relatives regarding timeframes for care and collection times of ‘Day Only’ patients.
- Preparation of Day Surgery patient files and coordination with ward clerks to obtain ward patient files.
- Filing and/or distribution of pre admission x-ray and pathology results.
- Support to main reception by admitting and/or discharging of patients on WebPAS during peak periods.
- Providing clerical support to the Day Surgery Nurse Unit Manager and nursing staff.
- Liaise with allied health, porters and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers.
Training and development will be available to the successful applicant.
Our Department
Our complex has 19 theatres (including Endoscopy), 32 first stage recovery bays as well as an additional 32 second stage chairs & 16 pre-operative beds in the day surgery unit.
Our specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Angiography and Vascular surgery.
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise well effectively
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, WebPAS Medical System)
- Previous front line customer service experience
