We are looking for an experienced Aboriginal Liaison Officer. The position will provide support and advocacy for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients within the Northern Beaches Hospital. The Aboriginal Liaison Officer has an important role in the care, welfare and assistance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients accessing health services to ensure a culturally safe, appropriate and respectful patient journey. The role will assist the MDT to provide clinical and primary health care for individuals and family.

  • To liaise with and support all Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander patients and clients that utilise services

  • To improve access and equity of Health Services by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

  • Provide an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander holistic health perspective in health care programs

  • Perform a Liaison role by referring clients to appropriate services

  • Perform and maintain required administration such as eMR
  • Assist with lifestyle programs, data collection, health checks
  • Provide advocacy and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and clients by participating in patient discharge, planning and service delivery

  • To undertake other relevant duties as directed by the Patient Experience Manager and  Director of Allied Health
