About the opportunity
John Fawkner Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Administration Officer to join our Emergency Department on a part-time basis. You will play a key role working within our supportive team to ensure our patients have a positive experience during their care. This role requires you to be available to work weekend night shifts.

As the largest private hospital with the only private 24 hr. Emergency Department and Critical Care unit in northwestern Melbourne, John Fawkner Private works with highly skilled visiting specialists who offer subspecialty expertise.
John Fawkner Private Hospital has a long-established tradition for providing quality healthcare to our local community, the veteran community and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.
As an administration officer your responsibilities will include:
- Handle various administrative tasks including:
- Manage a busy reception desk
- Answer and redirect calls
- Organise appointments and prepare admission paperwork
- Conduct follow up requests and make reminder calls for visits
- Maintain accurate record management and prepare medical records
- Collect co-payments and excess fees
- Collaborate with staff across various departments
- Perform clerical tasks including data entry and filing
Essential Criteria:
- Authority to Work in Australia
- Minimum 1 year of medical administration or reception experience required
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Medical Software (i.e WebPAS)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
