The Opportunity
Our Administration Services team at Brisbane Private Hospital have opportunities for an experienced Administration Booking Officer, to join our team.
Reporting to our Nurse Unit Manager of Day Surgery and Administration Office Manager, you will be providing administrative support in collaboration with Practice Managers for Surgeons and the BPH Theatre team. Key functions include:
· Data entry for patient information for surgical and medical bookings into WebPAS
· Working closely with clinical staff to ensure accuracy of the bookings.
· Liaising with Practice Managers / Secretaries, and surgeons, clinical teams to ensure smooth preparation of surgical lists
· Effective communication with Practice Managers to ensure all surgical theatre lists arrive within the required times
· Work with Practice Managers / Secretaries to ensure that all bookings are accurate, and that special requirements and other relevant patient details are communicated
· Work with other administration staff, theatre staff, medical staff and hospital coordinators across the hospital regarding cancellations/additions to the theatre list in a timely manner
Required competencies
· IT literacy and accuracy in inputting patient information for surgical and medical bookings.
· Working in a small team to provide smooth communication between VMO’s and Practice Managers and the hospital.
· Knowledge of Health fund contracts, prosthetic chargeable items, no gap prosthetics, DVA and Work cover approvals.
· Communicate effectively with relevant departments within the hospital regarding any patient booking updates.
· Maintain and promote good interpersonal, public relations and customer service.
· Ability to work efficiently to meet desired time frames.
About You
You will have an excellent understanding of how to coordinate administrative processes within a hospital setting and enjoy being a member of a team.
To be successful in your application:
· Prior Healthcare experience in a similar administrative role will be well regarded
· Have excellent computer literacy, accuracy and experience in using MS Office software
· Ability to communicate clearly with clinical and nonclinical staff to appropriately prioritise deadlines for patient surgeries.
