About the role

John Fawkner Private Hospital is an administration officer to join our Emergency team on a Casual basis. You will play a key role working within our supportive team to ensure our patients have a positive experience during their care.

Example of shift times range from 7am- 3pm, 3pm- 11pm, 11pm- 7am.

John Fawkner Private Hospital has a long established tradition for providing quality healthcare to our local community, the veteran community and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.

 

As an Emergency Department Administration Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • Greet all customers
  •  Handle enquires with a friendly and professional manner
  •  Manage a busy Emergency Department reception desk
  • Answer and redirect calls 
  • Prepare admission paperwork
  • Perform Health Fund Checks as required
  • Ability to work in Fast paced environment
  • Manage the collection of Emergency Department deposits, Health fund Excess/ co-payments and out of pocket fees
  • Coordinate with staff from other departments
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient information data collection and processing of medical records

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in an acute patient focused Healthcare facility/Hospital
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment  
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts- 7-day rotating rosters
  • WebPas Hospital system experience (desired)
