We want you to work within the Allied Health team at the Peninsula Private Hospital. Do you want to provide clinical and administrative assistance and support to Allied Health Professionals to ensure the delivery of a high-quality rehabilitation service?

This role is primarily based in our Inpatient rehabilitation and Acute Surgical and Medical services but will also have the option of working additional shifts across our Outpatient Day Rehab unit as required. Commencing as a casual role with the possibility of increased shifts.

As an Allied Health Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Support members of the Allied Health team to provide a high standard of clinical care to patients/families
• Work under the direction and supervision of physiotherapists and occupational therapists to help patients achieve their goals
• Provision of hands-on therapy services including facilitation of exercise groups
• Assisting patients with their daily needs including mobility and personal cares
• Assisting with cleaning and general tidying of clinical areas

With 60 inpatients Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation beds, a rehabilitation gym and 3 operating theatres located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula our facility averages 760 admissions per month. Specialties include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and internal medicine and the delivery of leading rehabilitation services and programs on the Brisbane Northside.

Selection Criteria:

• Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, manage time effectively and complete activities
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy roles
• Experience working with or providing care to frail/aged/disabled people in a health care setting or a basic understanding of exercise programs
