About the role: 

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Addictive Behaviour and Living Well Program Team at The Melbourne Clinic.  We are currently seeking a suitably qualified Grade 2 allied health clinician (social worker or psychologist) to join our multidisciplinary team on a fixed-term contract to provide evidence-based intervention to individuals with a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, eating disorders, OCD and neurodevelopmental conditions. The position involves working within the Addictive Behaviour and Living Well Program, providing a high standard of evidence-based intervention to adults in both group and individual therapy contexts.

The role is well supported by the Addictive Behaviour and Living Well team, and broader multi-disciplinary team. Successful candidates will receive both individual and group supervision as well as the opportunity to attend weekly Professorial Unit Academic Forum presentations. There is also generous allowance towards Professional Development opportunities. 

This fixed-term, part-time role 0.6 FTE Maternity Leave Cover from August 2026 to August 2027, comprises of 0.4 EFT in Addictive Behaviour Program & 0.2 EFT in Living Well Program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitating group and individual interventions within your scope of practice (may include conducting risk assessments, relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, CBT, interpersonal psychodynamic group therapy, knowledge of ACT and DBT, and attachment theory)

• Attendance at multi-disciplinary team meetings and supervisions as appropriate

• Working closely with the Addictions Therapy Program Manager and the multidisciplinary team

• Assisting the Therapy Program manager and Living Well Program Coordinator as required

• You may also be required to work within other TMC Programs

• Will be required to work in the addictions team inpatient program and outpatient program

Essential Criteria:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in an allied health discipline

• Appropriate Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional bodies

• Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team

• Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience in group therapy facilitation

• Commitment to ongoing education (including hospital mandatory training) and the provision of evidence-based practice

• Ability to work autonomously
