The opportunity
Our Theatres team have an opportunity for experienced Scrub/Scout leader to join our Periop leadership team on a full time, fixed term basis commencing January, 2025 - November, 2025 . Reporting to our NUM Operating Theatres, you will be responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership within the theatre complex to our Scrub/Scout team. Key responsibilities include:
· Operational leadership to floor coordinators and scrub/scout team
· Rostering, clinical audits & people leadership
Set at the top of Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, above the Roma Street Parklands in the heart of the CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is an acute and rehabilitation hospital with 181 beds, 17 operating theatres and dedicated surgical, ICU and rehabilitation wards. Brisbane Private Hospital specialises in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, ENT, Pain and Rehabilitation with additional specialties including Plastics, Urology, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Brisbane Private Hospital also delivers a leading private drug and alcohol program, Damascus Health Services, from its dedicated drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit.
About you
As an experienced leader you will have extensive experience working in Orthopaedics or Neurosurgery in a fast-paced theatre complex (approximately 400 procedures pw).
You will have demonstrated proven experience, or a keen interest in people development and leading team culture whilst having a thorough depth of knowledge in ACORN & National Standards. To be successful, you will have:
· Current Registration with AHPRA
· Rostering experience
· Experience leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
· Ability to communicate with influence
· Proven time management and prioritisation skills
· Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
· A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
