This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the leadership team in our busy Oncology Ward at John Fawkner Private Hospital. We are seeking a dynamic registered nurse to join our team. About the role
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) you will be responsible for assisting the NUM in efficient and effective management, coordinating the delivery of evidence based nursing care and be responsible for providing outstanding leadership and direction. The role requires a nurse with excellent clinical skills and effective time-management. An ability to liaise with all members of the healthcare team including clinical and non-clinical staff is essential.

We are renowned for complex surgery, with our Critical Care Complex being the only one of its type in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, providing intensive and high-dependency care post-surgery.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement
- Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes.
- Provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.
- Be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources
- Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Undertaking direct patient care, as required
Selection Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working with Children check
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
- Proven leadership skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization skill
- ADAC competent experience (desirable)
- Positive role modelling behaviours
- Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation
- Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
