Assistant In Nursing - 6D General Medical / Geriatrics
About the Role
This is an exciting career opportunity to work as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) as part of our dynamic nursing team at Northern Beaches Hospital.
Ward 6D is an adult general medical ward with 30 beds. Of these, 20 are double rooms with ensuites, and ten are single rooms, which include one negative pressure room and one bariatric room with a ceiling hoist. We provide dedicated care for medical patients, specialising in geriatric care for elderly, frail individuals, and those with cognitive impairments.
As an experienced AIN your responsibilities will include:
- Provide exceptional customer service and person centred, evidence-based care in a timely
manner - Maintain positive relationships with patients, families, staff from multi-disciplinary teams and VMOs from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Evaluate and maintain safety standards in a variety of scenarios
- Work in a team, busy and high-workload environment
- Adhere to workplace policies and procedures
- Monitor, document and respond to patient status changes (desirable)
To be successful:
- TAFE/ Certificate - Diploma level qualification in Community and Health Services or related
discipline (or working towards same) or is enrolled in an undergraduate program in nursing - Previous experience as an Assistant in Nursing desired
- Excellent customer service skills
- highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- flexibility to manage shift work (day and night) over 7 days

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024.
