Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Short Stay Unit

We are offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to join Northpark Private Hospital.

The successful applicant will have high level interpersonal skills, demonstrated experience in high quality patient care, labour management, and the decisive ability to problem solve. You will be motivated to continue in your own professional growth and service development through the unique opportunities this role will offer.  Experience in acute surgical nursing is essential. Team leader experience is preferred.

We are also embarking on our exciting new Expansion Project to be completed over two stages – End 2023 and 2024.

Work has commenced on the major expansion of both the Northpark and LaTrobe Private sites to ensure we meet the growing demand for quality health care across Melbourne’s Northwest.

At Northpark Private Hospital, we have:

·       5 operating theatres, Day Surgery Unit & Surgical Ward

·       Maternity ward with 3 birthing suites & Specail Care Nursery

·       Expansion of our established Mental health wards by 22 beds including a 10 bed older persons’ unit

·       Growth of support areas for Mental health expansion ie group spaces, meeting rooms, interview spaces, a gymnasium and patient support areas

·       A 7 bed Early Parenting Unit which accommodates families struggling with unsettled babies and parents’ mental health

At Latrobe Private Hospital we will open in February 2024 boasting 4 state of the art operating theatres, Day Surgery unit and a 34 bed surgical ward.

Essential Criteria:

·       Current Registration with AHPRA

·       Working with Children check (if relevant)

·       Acute Nursing Experience (Early Parenting/Sleep Settling/Mental Health Preferred/Maternity)

·       Commitment to Quality Patient Care

·       Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

·       Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills

·       Excellent communication and customer service skills

·       Works well independently and within a team

·       Basic computer skills
