Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Mental Health

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse ready to assume the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager in our Mental Health Unit?
Northpark Private is a 132-bed hospital located in the rapidly developing Northern Corridor of Melbourne and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. We specialise in Mental Health Services including general psychiatry, older persons and early parenting support as well as Obstetrics and surgical services.
Our general adult and older persons psychiatry inpatient units provide recovery-oriented mental health services to voluntary consumers with inpatient individual and group therapy programs, as well as TMS and ECT services. We are seeking multiple senior mental health nurses to take on the Associate Nurse Unit Manager positions available.
Position Responsibilities –
The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the ward/unit to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.
The ANUM is an integral member of the ward/unit management team, assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in the course of their duties to ensure provision of nursing care that is excellent in quality and consistently consumer-centred while achieving effective operational management of the clinical environment.
Key responsibilities:
The ANUM assists in managing the nursing and related resources available to the ward/unit, acts as a role model in setting the clinical standards and achieving high quality evidence-based nursing care, fosters the development of cooperative professional relationships with the multidisciplinary health care team, and facilitates a working environment which provides professional development and job satisfaction for all employees.
The ANUM assumes the responsibilities and authority of the Nurse Unit Manager in their absence and as such is able to assume the administrative operation of the ward/unit.
Selection Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working with Children check (if relevant)
- Experience in the Acute setting/relevant to position advanced skills
- Experience in intake, TMS or ECT desired
- Degree in relevant specialty area
- Grade 2, Year 2 or above
- Sound clinical knowledge
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive role modelling behaviours
- Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation
- Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
