Clinical Coder

As a Clinical Coder you will make an impact by translating the narrative descriptions of diagnoses and procedures into valid, accurate and complete ICD-10-AM codes which reflect the complete clinical picture of the patient.

You will: 

• Provide timely and accurate clinical coding
• Participate in case mix analysis, education & quality activities
• Undertake clinical documentation improvement initiatives
• Participate in audits

You will bring to our high-performing team:

• Bachelor Health Information Management (or equivalent) or HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding with current experience in ICD-10-AM , ACHI & ACS
• Proven experience in clinical coding
• Sound understanding of Codefinder & Turbocoder
• Sound Knowledge of private sector funding models
• Demonstrated understanding in WebPAS patient information system
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and focus on providing high quality work
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
• Excellent time management and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)

Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds.
