The Sydney Clinic seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Educator to join their established hospital team.
As a Clinical Nurse Educator your responsibilities will include:
The Clinical Nurse Educator and Infection Prevention & Control Nurse plays a vital role in supporting safe, high‑quality patient care through education, capability building, and best‑practice infection prevention strategies. This role combines clinical education leadership with expert oversight of infection control standards across the clinic.
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you are responsible for supporting and developing nursing staff through structured education, competency assessments, onboarding, and ongoing professional development. You provide clinical guidance, promote evidence‑based practice, and work collaboratively with leaders and clinicians to enhance patient outcomes and workforce capability.
As an Infection Prevention & Control Nurse, you lead the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of infection prevention practices. This includes surveillance, audits, policy development, staff education, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and organisational policies. You act as a subject matter expert, providing advice and responding to infection risks to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
This dual role is ideal for a proactive, knowledgeable nurse who is passionate about education, quality improvement, and patient safety, and who enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and Nursing, you will take on a leadership role in providing hands on educational support and clinical teaching/facilitation to graduate nurses & students. You will promote a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge. In addition, you will also ensure staff compliance to annual Mandatory Training and completion of eLearning components.
In this role, you will also attend relevant policy & procedure meetings, ward meetings and bi-monthly Education Meetings.
Essential Criteria:
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Post Graduate Certificate in related specialty area (or working towards) (preferrable)
- Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE) (or working towards) (preferrable)
- Educator experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
