About Northern Beaches Hospital
Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest in Northern Sydney just 13kms north of the CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. We provide a wide range of health services to the local community including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has thirteen operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Diabetes is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the clinical service, complimenting the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of our services.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is responsible for ensuring that all care elements associated with the relevant Clinical standard are in place, are evidence based and are continually evaluated at Northern Beaches Hospital. The CNC has specific responsibility for implementing dynamic and innovative harm reduction strategies for our patients, with a specific focus on clinical deterioration.
The CNC will be an expert practitioner, linking evidence and research to clinical practice, with a strong proven ability to influence models of care. The CNC provides expert clinical care and advice to patients, healthcare professionals and carers in relation to best practice. The CNC develops, facilitates, implements and evaluates care plans to meet the needs of the patient in consultation with Visiting Medical Officers, Staff Specialists and Junior Medical Officers as well as the nursing and allied health teams.
To be successful:
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent as applicable & a post graduate qualification in critical care.
• At least 5 years full time post-registration experience & at least 3 years’ experience in Critical Care

• Research experience
• Experience working in the private health system

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024, a salary ranging from $63.71 - $67.62/hour.
