We are looking for a Grade 2 Clinical Psychologist (or Psychologist wanting to undertake an Area of Practice Endorsement Clinical Registrar program) with a passion for excellence in clinical care. The position includes responsibility for providing a high standard of group and individual therapy to patients across our General Inpatient Program (Living Well Program) including the ICU/BMU, and Older Persons’ unit, as well as being part of and supported by the multidisciplinary team. There will also be an opportunity to be a part of our specialist programs, including our DBT-informed Emotional Management Programs, Eating Disorder Programs, Complex Trauma and EMDR Programs, and OCD Program.  In this role, you will plan, facilitate and evaluate groups, provide integral evidence based short-term intervention and highly skilled diagnostic and personality assessments. You will also contribute to team meetings and activities related to service planning, development and improvement.

This is a fixed term maternity leave part-time role (0.6 EFT)

As a Clinical Psychologist your responsibilities will include:  

·         Providing short-term psychological interventions to inpatients with complex presentations using a variety of modalities.

·         Administration and interpretation of psychological assessments including PAI, SCID, or other psychometric scales for diagnostic clarification.

·         Facilitating groups within the Living Well Program, and to work across other TMC programs as required, giving you exposure to specialist programs and training.

·         Work within the Allied Health multidisciplinary team including Mental Health Nursing, Neuropsychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Pastoral Care, Physiotherapy & Dietetics.

·         Attending relevant multidisciplinary team meetings.

·         Participating in the development and review of programs as necessary.

·         Participating in the development and evaluation of policies as appropriate.

·         Contributing to Clinical Psychology research projects.

Essential Criteria:

·         Current registration with AHPRA

·         Appropriate recognized qualifications in Psychology (ie. Masters, DPsych or Phd)

·         Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or currently undertaking an Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology

·         Experience in group therapy facilitation

·         Experience in delivering at least one therapeutic modality is required, with more than one desirable (e.g., DBT, ACT, or CBT)

·         Experience with a trauma-informed approach and offering recovery-focused care

·         Exceptional organisation, time management and communication skills

·         Ability to balance working autonomously and across a multidisciplinary team

·         Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence based practice

·         Commitment to upholding high standards of ethical practice

·         Current Working with Children Check

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience factored against the upcoming Enterprise Agreement the Healthscope – Victoria – Psychologists and Dietitians Agreement 2023-2026 (salaries range between $50.46 and $58.02 per hour) with a higher qualifications allowance and superannuation.
