We’re now looking for a Health Information Services Officer to join our supportive Health Information Services team and play a vital role in our hospital operations.

The Opportunity

As a Health Information Services Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the Health Information Services department, ensuring medical records are managed efficiently and in line with privacy and compliance standards.

  • Full-time role (part-time job share may be considered for the right candidates)
  • Monday to Friday, with flexibility required (must have availability for shifts ranging between 6.30am to 5.30pm)

 

  • Report directly to the Health Information Services Team Leader

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain complete medical records for discharged patients
  • Retrieve and file medical records using terminal digit filing systems
  • Manage off-site storage preparation and record culling
  • Collect records from wards and handle incoming correspondence
  • Respond to telephone enquiries professionally
  • Release health information to internal and external stakeholders in line with Healthscope policies

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Desirable:

  • Experience in a healthcare administration environment
  • Familiarity with WebPAS or similar patient administration systems
  • Understanding of patient privacy, confidentiality and medical terminology
