Housekeeping Supervisor
Northern Beaches Hospital, Frenchs Forest invites applications from competent and experienced Housekeeping Supervisors to join our team. You will lead and motivate your staff to deliver great service in the Housekeeping Department. We are looking for 1x full time staff to fill one supervisory role. The successful applicant will be available to work a total of 76 hours per fortnight from 2 pm-10 pm Sunday through to Monday. This role will be similar to running a successful housekeeping team in a 5 star hotel function!

Northern Beaches Hospital is a 490 bed facility operated by Healthscope. Treating both private and public in and outpatients, NBH provides acute medical, surgical and mental health care to Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Located on the Northern Beaches, the hospital is extremely well-situated and its management supports and encourages staff to achieve work-life balance, while actively supporting their professional development.
Central to the Supervisor role is:
- Ensure staff provide excellent customer service, employ safe work practices and manual handling techniques as well as identifying and reporting hazards
- Coordinate daily operational activities and preparation of task lists and work schedules for your team of 25-30 staff
- Motivate, support and train team
- Provide daily hands on support to team
- Ensure hospital equipment is well kept and clean to meet infection control requirements, audited for review, and new parts or replacements ordered when required
- Preventative maintenance scheduling and accountability when maintenance is required
- Manage stakeholder relationships including third party and suppliers when required
- Mortuary operations when required
- Instruct and assign tasks to the Guest Services cleaners
- Provide training to new staff
- Check and audit patient rooms for cleanliness and safety policies
HOURS: Each role will work 76 hours/fortnight and are required the below availability:
PM Supervisor: Monday to Sunday availability between 2pm and 10pm
As an experienced Supervisor with a passion for developing talent within the team, you will also possess the following skills and attributes:
- Previous supervisory experience within the healthcare or hospitality industry
- Knowledge of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards & EQuIPNational, Work Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control standards, Waste management
- Proven experience developing high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Competent computer skills
