Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres, including hybrid theatres, two cardiac catheter labs and four procedure rooms and a state of the art education and interactive SIM centre.

About the Department
The intensive care unit is a 20 bedded intensive care unit and provides extensive services to the local community. The senior medical staff are a group of committed educators who provide excellent clinical care whilst supporting juniors on their intensive care journey. There is a wide exposure to intensive care through a busy emergency department, major elective surgical, neurosurgical and cardiothoracic workload. We lead the hospital emergency response and outreach teams and form the fabric of support to the hospital as a whole.
The NBH ICU team is a core part of the hospital and enjoys the multi-disciplinary nature of working in a busy and friendly hospital. Your time in ICU maybe accredited with the College of Intensive Care Medicine and our supervisor of training will be here to guide you through process of joining the college and meeting your educational needs.

Your Role
The ICU SRMO provides clinical assessments, management advice, care of emergency admissions and works with inpatients as required and directed by senior ICU colleagues; performing any necessary procedures required for the care and treatment of such patients and the arrangement of any investigations and ongoing care. You will be supervised according to the CICM guidelines by senior medical staff to ensure their responsibilities are commensurate with their clinical experience.

Your Capabilities
To be successful in this role you will meet the following Selection Criteria:
· Hold a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and be registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
· Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner for a minimum of two years with progress towards career goals in Anaesthetics or Critical Care.
· Demonstrated clinical competency and an ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expert
· Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management and evidence of sound working knowledge of legal and ethical obligations governing medical practice.
· Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and problem solving skills in the clinical setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.
