Intake Coordinator - Full time or Part time opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse for the position of Mental Health Intake Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person who is looking for a challenging and stimulating role.
As an Intake Coordinator your responsibilities will include:
- The clinical assessment of potential patients who will often present in crisis
- Liaising with external referrers, internal Psychiatrists and Nurse Unit Managers in order to facilitate admission for patients who require acute inpatient mental health care
- You would provide advice and redirection to referrers, patients and their carers for people who cannot safely be cared for in our hospital or do not meet our admission criteria
- Actively participate in quality improvement, risk reduction activities and Work Health and Safety initiatives
The Geelong Clinic is a 73 bed Psychiatric Hospital offering a range of inpatient, day programs and outreach services for individuals experiencing mental health problems. Located on the outskirts of Geelong within close proximity to spectacular coastal attractions, the clinic has a number of accredited Psychiatrists supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team of nursing, allied health, administration and domestic services staff.

Selection Criteria:
- Extensive experience in mental health and risk assessment
- Excellent communication, customer service and negotiation skills.
- Previous Intake or triage experience
- High Standard of computer literacy
- Current AHPRA Registration
