About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking two experienced Nurse Unit Managers to lead two critical wards at Mount Hospital, as we prepare to re-open our refurbished areas in early February 2025. The available positions are for the following wards:
- Acute Surgical Ward (Orthopaedic, Neurosurgical, General & Plastic Surgery)
- Cardiothoracic & Vascular Ward
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a major development that will strengthen Mount Hospital’s reputation as a leader in private cardiology and cardiac surgery, while continuing our excellence in other specialties like orthopaedics, neuro, and general surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead with Impact: Oversee unit operations, driving patient safety and care excellence.
- Deliver Results: Manage performance across key areas – patient safety, quality, financials, and operations.
- Champion Quality Care: Implement Healthscope’s safety frameworks and improve patient outcomes.
- Mentor & Support: Provide leadership and guidance to your team, fostering a positive, collaborative environment.
About You:
You are an experienced leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong focus on results. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are skilled at driving process improvements to enhance quality and patient experience.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Registered with AHPRA (Registered Nursing)
- Proven leadership experience in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgical care OR General surgery.
- Results driven with a focus on achieving quality and performance outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to consult, guide and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve department objectives.
- Tech Savy: High computer literacy, especially in MS Office.
