Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our Medical Cardiology Ward on a Full-Time basis. Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 340-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.
With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.

As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:
· Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management
· Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
· Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
· Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team
· Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
· Undertaking direct patient care, as required
· Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Extensive experience and knowledge in Cardiac nursing
- Post Graduate qualification in Cardiac or Critical Care Nursing (or working towards)
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
- Understand the requirements of private health funding
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
