THEATRE FLOOR CO-ORDINATOR

About the Role:

The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital. 

You will provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition, you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.

You will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery.

  • Coordinate the provision of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.

  • Support, mentor, and guide nursing staff to maintain clinical excellence.

  • Manage staffing, budgets, and resources to achieve operational objectives.

  • Ensure high standards of patient experience and customer service.

  • Monitor compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Undertake direct patient care as required and provide support to less experienced team members.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and organisational goals.
     

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Working with Children check 
  • Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
  • Experience in the theatre setting
  • Degree in relevant specialty area
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong commitment to developing in a management role
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
  • Demonstrated HR management experience

  • A management degree or working towards

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF- NSW Nurse and Midwives' -Enterprise Agreement 2022, a salary of $70.94 per hour.
