About the opportunity
Join the team at Newcastle Private Hospital as an Occupational Therapist! We’re looking for an experienced professional to bring their skills to our Allied Health Services team on a casual basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team, ensuring exceptional patient care is being delivered.
We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As an Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities will include:
- Assess and evaluate patients’ needs to develop individualised treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients’ functional abilities and quality of life
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professional to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on managing conditions and achieving therapy goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes
Essential Criteria:
· Authority to Work in Australia
· Current AHPRA registration
· Working with Children check
· Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
· Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care
· Self-motivated team player
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
