Mount Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with experience in all clinical areas to join our dynamic team on a fixed term part time or casual basis. Clinical areas include rehabilitation, orthopaedics, oncology, general medicine, and cardio-thoracic surgery.
As a valued member of our Allied Health team you will:
- Plan, assess, implement and evaluate clinical care in collaboration with patients, families and the multi-disciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes.
- Contribute to the co-ordination of clinical care whilst working in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team including Nursing, Allied Health staff, Discharge co-ordinator and Hospital Consultants.
- Incorporate the provision of education and support to patients and their carers/family in the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation goals, discharge plans or end of life needs.

Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration AHPRA
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment intervention approaches and the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy.
- Minimum of 18 months’ previous experience in a hospital setting
- Demonstrated effective time management skills.
- Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to self-direct learning, including identifying gaps in your own knowledge and appropriate strategies to address gaps.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous participation in quality improvement activities
- Experience facilitating group therapy sessions for example Falls Prevention education.
- Available for occasional weekend shifts
