Permanent part time vacancy exists for the position of Senior Occupational Therapist.  This role is expected to commence between 7th May and 3rd June 2019.  Occupational therapy applicants must be flexible to work across the Monday to Friday roster.  Applicants must be able to work more or less hours according to the needs of our patients and the needs of the organization.
 
Occupational therapists work closely within the allied health team across all clinical areas of the hospital to ensure safe, effective and efficient service delivery and exceptional patient care.  The Senior Occupational therapist is also required to work closely with the allied health manager to support the needs of the organization and provide leadership to the occupational therapy team.
 
All staff are required to be role models of our values and are responsible for providing a high standard of evidence based care to patients of varying ages and cultural groups within the hospital.
 
 
As the Senior Occupational Therapist your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide occupational therapy services to people with a wide range of conditions in an individual and/or group setting
  • Liaise and coordinate with referrers, staff, relatives, and outside agencies to support independent living
  • Interpretation of assessments and implications for patient management, via verbal and/or written reports
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of policies and programs as appropriate

Selection Criteria:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Excellent clinical practice skills in rehabilitation
  • Post graduate qualification (completed or currently undertaking)
  • Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills
  • Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Ability to work autonomously and to identify and enact program improvement activities
  • Proven excellence in customer service delivery
  • Ability to work within and provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence based practice
