About the role:

Our Perioperative Leadership Team are seeking an experienced Registered Theatre Nurse to join our busy team as a Floor Coordinator.  This role will be suitable to Theatre RN’s with some floor coordination experience and an interest in growing in the position.  Working to support our theatre teams, VMOs and CSSD in coordinating staffing, movement in the theatres and daily operational activities, this role will be a critical part of ensuring we achieve clinical outcomes across our 6 operating theatres, two procedure rooms and a new CSSD department.

Peninsula Private is a 65-bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 6 operating theatres and a new high dependency unit to open in the near future, located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula. Specialties include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, internal medicine and the delivery of leading rehabilitation services and programs on the Brisbane northside.

About you:

You will be a qualified registered nurse with a sound understanding and CN experience in theatre floor coordination practices. You will have an excellent understanding of ACORN standards, be focused on leading an efficient and safe shift whilst being able to respond to daily operational changes with a calm and supportive disposition.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily Theatre operations across 6 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms and the CS department

  • Support and coordinate staffing requirements to ensure safe and efficient service delivery

  • Work collaboratively with Theatre teams, Visiting Medical Officers (VMO’s) & CSSD to ensure smooth daily operations

  • Oversee theatre low, patient movement and operational activities throughout the department

  • Contribute to achieving high-quality clinical and operational outcomes

  • Provide leadership and support to the perioperative team in a busy, fast-paced environment

  • Assist in the coordination of resources to ensure efficient theatre utilisation

  • Foster a collaborate team culture focused on excellence in patient care

  • Support the ongoing growth and development of the perioperative Department, including the new CSSD service. 

    Essential Criteria: 

     

  • Be a Level 2 registered nurse, previous experience as a Clinical Nurse is highly desirable
  • Have relevant post graduate qualifications (desirable)
  • Have experience in coordinating busy theatres
  • Commit to our Safe Values

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and QLD Nurse and Midwives' -Enterprise Agreement 2022, a salary ranging from $ 63.63 - $ $68.22 per hour.
