Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

About the Role

Our Antenatal Clinic in the Outpatient's department is looking for a ward clerk to provide outstanding customer care to patients and their families. This is a great role for experienced and patient care focused individuals who are wanting to achieve a dynamic career in healthcare.  

Our Antenatal Clinic in the Outpatients Department at Northern Beaches Hospital is looking for a friendly experienced staff member for a part-time position (5 days –5hrs per day, school hours). With the ability to flex up to cover leave if required.

As a Ward Clerk your responsibilities will include: 

Providing patient-centred customer service including: 

  • greet all customers
  • handle enquires with a friendly and professional manner
  • book, reschedule & bill appointments 
  • maintain accurate and timely patient information data collection and processing of medical records,
  • liaise with medical staff and other areas of the hospital
  • undertaking general administration duties,
  •  management of patient electronic records ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.

Essential Criteria: 
•    experience in an acute patient focused healthcare facility/hospital,
•    highly developed interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to work in multidisciplinary work environments,
•    good computer literacy & sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel),
•    a track record of providing great service and customer experience,
•    strong interpersonal communication and report writing skills,
•    ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
