Are you an experienced Nurse Educator seeking a new challenge? Peninsula Private Hospital is undergoing some exciting developments including a redevelopment project that will grow the Perioperative department to 4 theatres, 2 procedure rooms and a new CSSD department. The planned completion is September 2025 with our current capabilities expected to double by 2026. Specialties include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, internal medicine and the delivery of leading rehabilitation services and programs on the Brisbane northside.

As an Operating Theatre Educator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify educational needs by partnering with Nursing Leaders (i.e. DON, NUM, CNS) and Clinical Support Functions (i.e. Quality, Infection Control)
  • Lead and foster a learning environment
  • Maintains a professional and constructive working relationships
  • Prioritises Healthscope’s patient safety and quality frameworks
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Certificate in work place assessment and training

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Post Graduate Qualification in perioperative nursing or clinical education
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE)
  • Thorough knowledge of ACORN standards and current legislation
  • 3+ years clinical experience in perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • WWCC
  • Current Police Check

Desirable Criteria

  • Post Graduate qualification in area of clinical practice
