Are you someone with exceptional team leading and customer service skills? The opportunity currently exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Operating Theatre Orderly Supervisor to join our Perioperative team on a full-time basis.
The Role
As the Operating Theatre Orderly Supervisor, you will ensure efficient and high level of supportive operational service standards are met within the Perioperative department. You will manage the Operating Theatre Orderly Team and report directly to the Peri-Operative Services Manager.
About us
Norwest Private Hospital is a purpose built 277 bed acute care facility situated in the Hills District of Sydney, approximately 40kms north west of the CBD. Providing a wide range of health services including perioperative department, ICU, CCU, angiography suite, surgical wards, orthopaedic ward, medical ward, maternity and women’s health unit and 24-hour emergency department.
Our perioperative department comprising of 19 state of the art operating theatres - 8 integrated, and one hybrid, cardiac catheterisation theatre, 32 bay first stage recovery, a surgical admissions centre with second stage recovery, preadmission clinic, 2 dedicated endoscopy suites and CSSD. Our major specialties include cardiothoracics, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, plastics, ENT, obstetrics and gynaecology, maxillo-facial, robotic surgery, and endoscopy.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- A sound understanding of operating theatre environment and ability to anticipate needs
- Well-developed strong non-verbal and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and computer skills – including MS office
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work both independently and to lead a team to achieve tasks within a timely manner
- An interest in promoting best practice patient care to ensure excellence in customer service
- A professional manner at all times and role model Healthscope’s safe values
- The ability to maintain safety standards and adhere to guidelines, policies and procedures
The Theatre Orderly Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Rostering, allocation of team members and delegation of tasks
- Ensuring daily operations are accurately and efficiently performed by orderly team
- Workforce planning and development
- Participation in WHS and infection control strategies
Essential Criteria:
- 5 years’ operating theatre orderly experience
