A Physiotherapist with a diverse range of skills who is able to work across both Rehabilitation and Acute services; including Day Rehab, SOU, Surgical and Medical… Does this sound like you?

As a Physiotherapist your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a high standard of clinical care to individuals/patients in our hospital
  • Provision of inpatient cardiorespiratory, orthopaedic and neurological physiotherapy services as well as a broad base of general clinical skills
  • Assessment and treatment of patients where clinically indicated in collaboration with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes 
  • Ability to assess clients against the rehabilitation functional independence assessment measure   (FIM)
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously
  • Able to participate in case conferences to support the Allied Health Manager and Nurse Unit Manager  in the planning, development and maintenance of a high standard of professional services within the DPH Rehabilitation Ward, Medical/Surgical Ward, Special Observation Unit, Day Program, and Outpatient Services.
  • Awareness of the specific demands of work in the private health sector   

Darwin Private Hospital, part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, is a 108 bed hospital, co-located with The Royal Darwin Hospital. It provides a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. 



Selection Criteria:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Experience across a range of services; including Acute and Rehabilitation
  • Highly developed assessment and treatment skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills and experience working in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
  • Customer focused service delivery
  • Current NT Working with Children's Clearance (Ochre Card)
