Prosthesis Coordinator
Full-time role
Wage range $35-$40 per hour
Darwin Private Hospital is currently seeking a Prosthesis Coordinator with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to join our team. The Prosthesis Coordinator role involves the management and replenishment of all prosthetic items and associated loan sets used within the perioperative department including Theatre and Cath Lab.
The Prosthesis Coordinator is responsible for:
- Inventory management of items that are consigned, owned and loaned to the hospital.
- Receipting, invoice matching, stock rotation and presentation of goods onsite.
Entering of rebate codes into the patient management system for billing purposes.
Ensuring that all stock is accounted for and ensure that surgery is able to go ahead with the available stock.
Working closely with nursing, CSSD and supply staff.
Coordination of loan sets as required.
Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. In February 2021, a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit, The Darwin Clinic, opened a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program.

We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.
Essential Criteria
Previous experience in ordering and billing of theatre prosthetics and rebate items (desirable)
Ability to build and maintain rapport and effective relationships with key stakeholders and customers
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
Self-directed and motivated with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise and work to deadlines and budgets
Timely & effective decision-making skills
Medical terminology (desirable)
